Hi
My dad doesn't entirely believe in photoreading as well, though I do not live with him, so it's easier for me to ignore it.
Photoreading IS possible, as you well know. It is a very large part of my life right now. With your parents, my best suggestion is not to argue with them. Try to minimise bringing up the subject at all. When photoreading works for you, the results will speak for themselves.
If doubts plague you, I suggest you try the NOPS formula. Play around...own your doubts, play with them and stay with the whole process. I've recently had a period of some distractions as well, but staying with it got me through - it's past now. The one thing I learnt was that you are responsible for your thoughts. If you find them limiting you, then choose to change them. Do it a few times, and they'll start to fade.
During the process itself, if doubts resurface, acknowledge them, but concentrate on the chant. Another way to replace them is with an affirmation of sorts. You can work that into a chant. I've recently had an imaginary mascot on my shoulder to remind me to be positive - he's a great help!
You might add affirmations like
"I release all doubts about the process."
"My confidence in the process improves all the time. PR works for me."
to the list of affirmations before you start to flip pages.
Hope this helps.
