I'm still learning the system and as I follow the posts on this forum I see that in most cases the themes relate to the activation or the actual PR step mostly the photofocus and blip. Now I can see the blip but I'm more comfortable with the X-technique and stick to it. But I was wondering about the use of the relax-relax chant during the PR step. It's main purpose is to prevent mind wondering of and getting negative thoughts. It keeps one focused on the thing he/she is doing at the moment, that's photoreading, right? But I have a felling that it does somenthing else as well. In some previous posts I was worried that I don't do the PR step right, that is that I'm not having the correct photofocus and Alex came up with some helpfull stuff among the rest she mentioned that the photofocus is the same as daydreaming (when we daydream we diverge eyes and don't even notice it ). When we daydream we think about something intensely and then we unknowingly diverge eyes and get into photofocus. So when I Pread and concentrate on the internal chanting I have this feelling that I'm in the photofocus without any effort and also in accelerated learning state as well. So I wonder what the rest of you think about this thoughts of mine about the chant:

1. It prevents mind wondering of and negative thoughts getting in (basic idea presented in the course).
2. Sort of puts one into photofocus (if we concentrate on the chant it's hard to also fall into regular focus, it's kind of forced daydreaming if you know what I'm trying to say).

I believe that it helps your mind from wondering, but only helps. You can chant, photo-foucs, flip and still wonder... at least I can.

I make sure that I have I AM RELAXED in my chant, but not just relax. I sometimes do 1-2-3 or 3-2-1. I always have I AM ALERT, and I NOTICE ALL THE MATERIAL. I usually have I'M MAKING THIS MATERIAL MINE.

I sometimes re-inforces the tangerine, I do this when I want to increase my feeling that I'm taking the material in.

I sometimes chant a line of purpose, I do this if I notice myself drifting.

If I stumble during page turning, I say things like, "This is okay, I'm taking it all in.", "I'm relaxed and my see it all.", "All this material is becoming mine".

I'll re-iterate that I always have RELAX in my chant. I notice muscles loosen almost every time I say it. I put more than just relax in my chants, because repetitive relax statements will start me on the road to sleep.

So alesT, my answer is yes I basically agree with you.

Thank's for your opinion Iam2. I see that you have made up your own chant. That's good. I still use the chant from the PR course but from time to time I add some similar lines like you do just to make it a more positive experience.
Thank's for replying and bye.
