As long as you can see both full pages it doesn't really matter if the focus is in the center of the book or over the top edge. Use the imaginary X technique as well and your photoreading will be just as effective.

After a while you'll find that you can hold the blip page while focusing in the middle of the book you may still choose to maintain your focus at the top edge. In time you'll be able to see the blip page in a matter of seconds and it will stay.
