I also believe that Tony's books have some genuinely helpful information in them, but I later came to realize that all he does is repackage already established ideas and techniques from NLP and present them as his own. Reading one of his books is good for getting a sort of layman's introduction to NLP.
I wholeheartedly agree with AlexK that he comes off too much as a huckster and a carnival barker. I think his whole approach gives other people/companies in the self-development field a bad name.
