What you PRed you've gone too fast for the conscious mind to process. So the inner mind gives it to the conscious mind on the basis of what you want to know. If you want to know the entire story in a flash your conscious mind says yeah right 'in your dreams maybe' you'll notice that even in your dreams stories take a while to 'play' out it isn't in a flash. 
Consciously you only need to know 10% of a book to get the authors meaning... the rest is usually explaination repeated a couple of ways to help you understand. Even then the rest of the filler is in your inner mind; to help you understand.
