You are looking for parallel focus when you photoread, an eye on each page.
Vison 3D has some techniques you can try to obtain the focus. http://www.vision3d.com/3views.html
If you really have trouble just soften your gaze and use the imaginary X Technique. Your focus should be on the four outer corners of the book as well as the point where the X would cross.
For the record I use this technique as well as the blip page interchangably.
