Well it seems no one else can learn Reading Genius well enough to teach it besides Mr Strachar. I personally see that as a sign that it is difficult to be sucessful. If others cannot be taught how to teach it; how can you ever feel that you have reached a level of mastery at it?

With photo reading you have a method were others can help you learn it. Not just a tape course and hope that you get it.

Also I understand that ReadingGenius has a CD it encourages you to use everytime you you want to read. In my view it creates an excuse not to get your reading out of the way. (the batteries are flat in the CD player, someone else is using it, at home and the cd is at work, workmates look at me funny when I put the CD on to read).

ReadingGenius is a speed reading course. You try to have comprehension while pushing your eyes across a page faster and faster. The CD is required to keep your mind in a state where this is supposed to be easier, since many people find this uncomfortable and that their comprehension suffers as a result. This system probably works, however there is only one teacher you can verify this with and it's difficult to compare your experiences with others or even ask another teacher. It makes it seem like there is only one right way to do it.

PhotoReading is nothing like speed reading. Your mind takes a mental snapshot of the text on both pages while you turn 1 page every 2 seconds. In this way all the information is first place into your inner mind for processing and comprehension is built in a few short activation sessions. So you wind up comprehending, learning and mind mapping the information in 1/3 to 1/5 the time it would take you to just regular read the book. You can attend a live seminar and learn from others who have learnt the system.

WOw.. I read that InGenius site... WTF... sorry for the language... They out right attack photoreading and they propose VERY pragmatical ways to achieve goals. I want things now and here, yet the goal is to look at what facts help formulate your thinking process and etc. I don't like their course, nor the way they just give some BS of testimonials. "This helps me alot, and in other areas." some russian tard. Photoreading is play, That reading feels like work, LOL. I still wanna mess w/ Photoreading, low goals now, but I'll get somewhere.

I am a big fan of the paraliminal tapes and have been wanting to get the Photoreading set. In the meantime I was at a thrift store and found a copy of Ed Strachar's "Reading Genius" for $14.50. This was very cheap and it was complete and in really good condition...almost unused. I have heard that it is very similar to the Photoreading system. I have just begun using it and I am wondering if anyone who has done both can talk about how it is different, if it is. Does he leave out or add steps that are in or not in the photoreading process?

From what I've learnt they are no way similar. The Reading Genius course relies heavily on music. Moreover it is a speed reading system. PhotoReading is not speed reading so you're comparing different techniques.

I'm amazed that a course that sells for almost $300 can be obtained for as little as $14.50 almost unused? Good luck with it I'll be very interested in knowing how you go with it. However it's not the photoreading course you've got and the techniques are different.

My understanding from reading your reply was that you have not used the Reading Genius System.

It hardly seems fair to assess the value of something without using it.

As for finding the program for $14.50 one certainly cannot ascertain that this means it is without value. I have found and purchased nearly new Paraliminal tapes in Thrift stores for $1.00. Despite this they have proved valuable for me.

I am interested in finding out from someone who has actually used both programs how the strategies and processes differ.

I would like at some point to study both and incorporate the best of both systems if they are in some way compatible.

I made no value judgement I merely pointed out that the 2 systems are totally different.

Ed Stratcher has provided enough information about his course for one to know that they are different systems, he even says it's a speed reading course. Photoreading is *not* speed reading and as such the two courses do not compare.

Since I am a successful photoreader not even my test run of the reading genius course could change the fact that I prefer photoreading over speed reading any day.

What you find in the photoreading course you're not going to find in the Reading Genius and what you find Reading Genius (speed reading) isn't in photoreading.

You've got the reading genius course. Try it and if it works for you you probably won't need to turn to photoreading. Thankfully they are different systems and if Reading Genius doesn't work for you there's still the photoreading option.

Once again I am simply trying to determine the basic structure and strategy of each course and how they differ. Hopefully someone has used both and will be generous enough to discuss the differences.

I'm not the only one who says they are nothing alike at all... but you'll find some comparisons have already been made on the forum,
