It seems that this reading genius supply organizations such as Navy because they don't have weeks or months to learn effective reading.They need something "now" and which is quite effective.

Also, it seems that people find photoreading and go to it themselves because it is a belief thing.Most people still have the old ineffective reading habits so a major org wouldn't want to stray from that.

People who are forward thinking enough to challenge their beliefs and do things a different way are rare, your not likely to find a whole org full of them.

Yes, and then theres the forum to help you learn the system. Telephone coaching that comes with the photoreading home study course. There are more instuctors so you discover there is more than one right way to do it. You meet other photoreaders sooner or later. If not through a class then through the forum. Direct learning is something that goes beyond speed reading and fun too.

Yes I've done speed reading and if you don't keep it up you go backwards. With photoreading you just dust it off to leave regular reading in the dust from the word go.

I think a good analogy in this is the development of the dvorak keyboard over the almost universally used qwerky keyboard layout.

I say this because the qwerky keyboard, although not as effective as the dvorak, is so common that it's basically impossible to change.Certianly no major organization would change to dvorak, either designers or users.

This is why the Navy uses speed reading instead of photoreading.It's close to the norm, so they feel comfortable with it, even though it's ineffective and unnatural.

I listened to an Ed Stracher course a year or two ago called "Magical Concentration". There was a lot if off-topic stuff in it. To be honest, an awful lot of it was not to do with concentration and learning. I remember he plugged his "Reading Genius" course at every opportunity he got, but judging by the lack of useful information in the concentration course, I would not be tempted to buy "Reading Genius". I don't like the way he is attacking "photoreading" on his site either, I might add. If he has invented something better, as he claims, then surely it should succeed on its own merits rather than on doubts he is trying to create about other reading systems.

No one has mentioned Dan Lee Dinke's reading system yet. It aslo has the 25,000 word upper limit. I found it a really useful addition to Photoreading with eye exercises and hand patterns to aid perception. From what I can tell, it was developed in the late 70's or early 80's. So who's copying whom?

I tried doing a google search on Dan Lee Dinke but got nothing. Are you sure that is the correct spelling. I would like to find more information on this system.

I am on the 4th tape of the Reading Genius system. Seems ok so far, though I do not think I am comprehending anything yet. I hope he comes up with some good ways to get into the unconscious and dredge content up.

I have also decided to do the Photoreading system. Just need to get the book, see if I can learn it that way and if not use the tape system.

I was wrong with the spelling - a slip of the key, if you will. The guy is Dan Lee Dimke. I used his programme Ultra Learn Syatem which has lots about learning, memory, study and, his reading system in it in detail. I borrowed the programme of an old girl friend so i don't know where to get it from exactly, however, I also came across another post with Dan Lee Dimke in it on this thread at
