When I try to PR a book my concious mind always seems to think about the book. The more I try to relax - concentrate on the breathing and use the mantra - the more frustrated I get. What should I actually do to keep my mind as clean as possible? I reaaly want this to work for me.

I would say believe in yourself. It will work for you. That is one of my favourite horses.

You might try relaxing and doing the mantra without the book. This should work. Then do it with the book in front of you. Then do it with the book upside down and flip through the book backwards (in photo-focus).

Come back and lets us know when the concentration breaks down or if you maintained the state for each of the three tests. Do each test for about 3 minutes or until you reach the end of the book. It doesn't have to be exactly three minutes so don't time it.

If it helps, I know you Can do the whole system.

Good luck,

Iam2

Notice what you are thinking about the book that you are photoreading. You are probably setting up questions that you want answered. Go with the flow of that. Onces you've mentally noticed your curiosity just gently bring it back to the chant. Calmly accept your curiosity about the book even the guesses you made about what the book contained.

Its a simple phrase to keep you focus and in the Accelerative learning state. Reminding yourself to relax and stay in state. More like an affirmation stated over and over again in a steady page turning rhythm.

It keeps your conscious mind occupied while you hand the 'reading' over to your other than conscious mind. Similar to "on your mark, get ready, get set, go!" Just a reminder to stay with it.

I should add you say it silently to yourself and may even modify it at some point. It's just to stay in photofocus since we are so used to shifting into hard focus.
