I am thinking about buying this self study guide for photoreading...How much will it help me and how long would it take to actually be able to do it good? I am a 10th grade high school student, and am pretty smart I guess, yet lazy. Well, I would like to call it laid back...So I am smart and all, I just don't like to put effort into a lot of things I don't care for. I fell upon this and was like hmm...If only I could do it, then reading this 700 page book for school in a few weeks time wouldnt be bad at all. Cuz honestly right now, it would take me all weeks plus one...I have to go to the internet and read summaries and character analysis, etc. to finish in time. Gifted LA for you right there...I am just not a heavy reader...but I figure, if I could learn this and could do it, I would be much better off. Seeing as I have high school to finish up, I could learn everything so much faster, understand it better too, and still have time for the band(i play guitar in it). And then, theres college...Where you supposedly get to read and read and read and thats about it. You read and understand your textbooks, and you take a test and thats college...How much easier would that be if I could actually photoread?!? Sounds much much easier. Also, I do bad on tests like writing portions of the SAT type test and all those, because they usually use a lot of big vocabulary, and I dont have one of those at all...I was hoping maybe this whole PR would make my vocab bigger, even if it meant just looking at a few pages in a dictionary and hoping I would remember the words and definitions.
I just have a few questions...is this gonna hurt my brain or anything some way cutting my life span?!? Or maybe...give me dreams at night which scare me or something like that which I saw some post on here about lucid dreaming which sounds weird too...I dont really know anything about all this mind and brain and subconcious reading...being able to control dreams and waking up whenever...thats a lot of mind stuff...Doesnt even sound human. I am just normal, go to sleep and wake up, might have had a dream but I wouldnt remember it. I read by moving my eyes across all the words.
My other question is, how long does the whole process take? I was reading where you have to get in the right state of mind, do the reading, and then all this activation stuff...If the PR only takes a few minutes all sounds good, but if the activation and planning and everything else you have to do takes a long time to do, you might as well just read it normally.
Thanks for any questions answered! I am just trying to find out a little more about it before spending 250$ on something that sounds like its not even possible. I dont want to get it and find out theres some really weird and strange side effects that might mess me up or anything. And also, would it require you to read a book a day to be able to keep doing it? Or can you just simply read like any normal person would and not amazing amounts of books, and still be able to do it whenever you need to. Also, I think I meant to say this earlier...It says that you can be PR by side B of tape one, but how long does it take to get through side A of tape one? If its as simple as just listening to it, then thats pretty fast, but if side A consists of things you need to practice and all, go over, relisten to, etc. then that may be a while before you even get to side B. I know this message turned out kind of long but hey...thats what PR is for!
