i am doing the photoreading steps accordingly , however i am still finding it hart to activate the material that is highly procedural and technical like MAthematics, Computer Programing etc as described in the book using superreading and dipping and skittering. To gain comprehention about the material i still need to read it and analyze it the normal way.
In that sense what benefit do i gain doing the photreading step? Do I reduce the potential effect of photreading by activating the material in a "traditional way".... it that is activating at all. Although I do actually slow reading to understand the material i do stick to some suggestions mentioned in the book. First of all. sometimes some material is harder to understand and when this happens i skip it and move forward.. when thei is possible. I also do mindmapping as a way to train myself to retrieve that information from memory. I do multiple passes of reading and sometimes i even skip chapters and move from one type of problem to another.
Do you think without the actual PRing step the material would be more difficult to understand and to store in memory? I don'f know but i feel that PRing has a tendency to make me memorize things faster and I could usually learn.
For ecample i am doing my exams at university and with just one sitting prior to the exams I am learning what we did during the whole course. I had only PR severtimes before bu never spend much time activating it.
