No mind frying here. I have used the 40hz frequency for general alertness. It also does seem to increase dream vividness if one plays it while asleep. Supposedly it has something to do with cortical-binding and that actual tests have been run with it, I don't remember any goos URLs though. I use SBaGen software, and am wondering what the BWGen is like. I seem to remember that one has to pay for it after 30 days. SBaGen is diffucult to learn but pretty powerful...I have to use Programmers File Editor to write my tone sequences.
Somebody mentioned something about 40hz coupled with 8hz ( a 5th harmonic or something). I'll try it. Please clarify.
Other tones that I find beneficial are 4,6, and 7.83, in various combinations. I must say that binaural beats are pretty cool and I would like to have light/sound machine but I have trouble justifying the cost. At least in my experience, these tools aren't all they're hyped up to be...they are very interesting and were very useful as I began meditation over 2 years ago but in terms of profundity I haven't had any spectacular experiences like I have with Lucid Dreaming. I have tried to combine the two, binaurals and dreaming, and it does seem to help dream recall, but it doesn't help to directly stimulate Lucid Dreaming. Anyways, if anyone has any specific advice on frequencies, or on combining it with other things I'd be open to it.
