Thanks. Keep us posted as to the results, when you are able to do it. I will be starting in June (I would rather do it now, but I think that it would be better to wait til, I have a vacation.)

I really think that it can be done, especially if you have some flexibility as to when you take your breaks. Thanks for the reply.

I've always had to sleep a lot to feel my best, frankly i cannot relate to all these other students who routinely get 4-5 hours of sleep. Yes, I am doing a lot of work with dreaming and lucid dreaming...as soon as I gain some more proficiency and mastery I have full confidence that I will be able to use the dreamstate as an ideal medium for creativity, and problem-solving. In addition, dreaming is a vital process in learning about oneself, and can be quite exhilarating. Lucid dreaming happens in REM sleep which only reaches usefull duration AFTER 4-5 hours. REM periods last especially long in the morning hours...a few weeks ago I had a continuous lucid dream which lasted for an entire hour in physical-time. This is one of the reasons I take the effort to schedule more sleep-time and why I'm a bit dubious of poly-phasic sleeping, although I will give it a shot and will keep youu updated as to any success.

Personally it takes me at least 20-30 minutes to fall asleep, unless I'm incredibly tired

Actually, the naps in polyphasic sleep are pure REM, once you get adjusted to the schedual. You will probably have a way higher success rate with lucid dreaming and dream recall--24 minutes or so of pure dream sleep

Can you guys really survive with that little amount of sleep? Dang! I wanna learn polyphasic sleep if that would not hurt my health. But I dont think learning strategies sell "Polyphasic Sleeping" product. Do they?

Wow me too. I wanna learn to do that. Polyphasic sleeping seems very interesting. But i always try to sleep 10 hrs. Where can i learn more about polyphasic sleeping? What are the disatvantages. Does it harm your health? Do u need to have a lot of time on your hands? Is it fun? Does it work? Ahh so many questions, so little answers.

Muscle growth, i believe we need a long continous rest for your muscles to grow, as i am becoming very physique conscience i dont want to try something that would harm my growth.

p.s.- if you disagree please provide with evidence, it would be greatly appreciated as PPS is very very interesting to me.

Okay, sorry for the long delay.
1) Learning Strategies does not sell a polyphasic sleep course. There's really not that much to learn.

2)It is possible to do--Buckminster Fuller lived on this for schedual (the full polyphasic--just 2 hours of sleep) for one year. If you are undecisive, consider just sleeping a little less, e.g. 4hrs, etc. See my schedual a couple posts above.

3) I don't think it would be bad for your health/muscles, but I would try to get an hour delta w/brain wave generator. I would also eat entirely in the zone. (FYI there are a few books written by the zone guy Barry Sears) The Zone diet is not really a diet but a life long think and is the best health/nutrition diet. It will help you get more energy, etc.

4) I am currently not on the polyphasic sleeping schedual because it won't work with my current schedual--so I don't know everything.

5) Check google for links to polyphasic sleeping sites--there's not that many.

Just my five cents
