Relaxed soft focus where you look at all the words on the 2 pages of the book while flipping the pages.

If you are using the X-technique that is fine. If you lose the soft gaze because you start 'reading' turn the book upside down. Since you don't really want to read upsidedown it often becomes easier to hold the blip faster.

Check out some stereograms for playing with photofocus. When you are using parallel vision when you photoread you are in photofocus.

That link explans the parallel view and some ways to play with achieving it. Once you know how it feels to look at stereograms like that it becomes easier to know that you are in photofocus.
