I'm not sure exactly what you mean by literary connections. If you're talking about allusions, then yes, you do. If you're talking about thematic connections, then definately. Whenever I PhotoRead literature, I always dip into places where an allusion is made. PhotoReading does increase the breadth of one's knowledge base.
