I wrote a post on Mindlist on this topic a few years ago. I developed a simple technique during my last semester in college. I'd photoread the chapters in the textbooks which I would be tested on and not bother with activating. At that time, I heard so much about spontaneous activation that I was kind of stuck on attempting that method.

During multiple choice tests, I would give a letter to each finger. When a question came up, I'd ask my unconscious what the answer was, and the corresponding finger to the answer would move. During my first test with this method, on one question, my unconscious gave me an answer, but the word on the test was one I've never seen before. I asked several times and got the same answer. I filled in the dot for the answer than seemed most likely to me, ignoring what my unsconscious said. When I got the test back, I could see that my unconscious was right. This technique is simple a variation of using finger signals in hypnosis. Normally people have one for "yes" and another for "no," but there is no reason not to have an a, b, c, d, and e.

I made the dean's list and National Dean's List that semester. I don't think using this made my grades any higher than they would have been if I studied normally, but they did allow me to "study" only a few minutes a day while I spent the rest of the time at my martial arts training and full time job.
