From traditional studying I know that when starting a new subject, everything seem important because you have no reference or standards to compare things.

Here are two different approach to dealing with it. The first is dive in and drink in the ocean. This is to overwhelm yourself with information and your mind will eventually start detecting patterns and rules and making sense of it.

The second is with you first passes with SR and dipping look for the 3 Most Useful-to-you ideas. Don't worry if you gotten "THE" most important. Actually just trust yourself that your mind knows better what you need than your conscious filter. Then build detail or the next most important / useful information. Remember that was is useful will change and you integrate the knowledge within yourself.
