I just took the PhotoReading Seminar this weekend from Paul and let me tell you, this is pretty amazing stuff. I've got a lot to learn but am very excited about doing so. Anyway, here's my first question to the board...

How would I PhotoRead this forum?

Photoreading a single post is not difficult as long as you can divert your eyes while looking at a computer screen (something I don't have difficulty with). However, what's difficult is the fact that you have to always be clicking to get to other threads. To click on the right spot you have to get out of Photofocus state and back in. I guess this is OK but I'm thinking there might be a better way.

I frequent a lot of discussion board with a similar format to this one and would love to figure out a way to PR them in a better fashion. Any ideas?

because the posts are so short (very few get a substantial amount of replies) and would not take very long to read normally, most of us just read this forum the way we were taught in school.

If there is a really long post or one with tons and tons of replies, just do the system as you were taught.
1)get an idea of the subject by taking a look at the first post and preview the thread. State your purpose
2) Photoread
3) activate ...

you really decide how to do this on your own and for alot of forums and messages it isnt nessesary.

sorry if Im not making much sense, Im tired.

That makes sense. Some of the other forums I frequent have longer posts so that's where PR probably makes more sense. I guess using Rapid Reading or Power Reading would make more sense for short posts.

Another thing I figured out is that there is a tab order sequence that does the trick too. It's a bit convoluted but at the very least it allows you to keep a semblance of focus. I'll keep playing with this and let everyone know what I figure out.

Playing with what works is the best idea to go with. I do a combination of things, but most of the time I don't even PhotoRead these posts. For the longer topics, with more replies, with maybe some things that I missed, I just hit the space bar, take it in, and then do a quick SuperRead.
