Considering that you could read the book or you could do any of countless other things, why are you reading the book?
The important thing is to have your purpose be on the meta-level. For example, I read a large number of books (a little under thirty) on ethics, biology, behaviorism, neurology and so forth in order to paint a coherent picture of human evil. Painting that picture wasn't my purpose, though. My purpose was to put the behavior of myself and others into a context. Sort of like asking, "Why do people do bad things to me?" All purposes have to be self-relivent and self-enhancing.
You can always use the purpose, "to increase my skills with PhotoReading," which is of course a self-enhancing goal.
