I was in class tonight and the speaker was getting a little boring so I decided to speedread the textbook while he spoke. I didn't want to give the impression that I wasn't listening either so here's what I would do. I would go into photofocus on a page, then look up at the instructor, flip the page and go back into photofocus. I did this for the entire book.
My question is "How effective is this?" I didn't have any probably going in and out of PhotoFocus state (I saw the "blip" no problem) but am wondering if doing it like this is ineffective or at best marginally effective. Also, would the additionally stimuli of the instructor speaking hurt the effectiveness?
