I was wondering how long I should take to rapid read fiction books. Should it take 2 hours to get through the whole book? Because 2 hours is how long, on average it should take to activate a nonfiction book right? My goal isnt to enjoy the book so I dont care about the loss of enjoyment.
Thanks

If your goal isn't to enjoy the book, I guess the longer and more grueling it is, the closer you'll be to your goal.

Just read rapidly, using whatever speed seems best at the time. Don't worry too much about time limits, just grab info and go.

Yeah, just do what you have time for, and can enjoy. Combine both time, and fun into the best combination for you at that moment. If there's no fun, then all you have to worry about is time, and vice versa.

If the book doesn't interest me and it is required reading I'd want to know what I am required to know and just get that out of the book using superreading and dipping. I'd be looking for the overview, plot characters, setting. Then maybe go deeper and find the theme, symbolism, philosophy, language and imagery.

I'd do 3 maybe 5 - 20 minute activation sessions and mind mapping. I'd consider rapid reading if I developed an interest in the book and wanted to know more.

I would have the advantage of having pulled this information out of the book by repeated views, rather than trying to remember it all from only one rapid read.

I'd fall straight into a rapid read if the book was for pleasure and I wanted to devote some time to it without the need to remember much of it later.
