Has anyone had success with using caffeine to aid Photoreading? I tend to get drowsy and start drifting off when I'm in the Alpha or Theta states while photoreading and the information in the book doesn't reach me. I decided to drink a little coffee (much less than 1 cup) and photoread with a Theta bwgen wave playing with moderate success. Any ideas how to maintain the accelerative learning state w/o using coffee for alertness?

A small amount of caffine is helpful for memory. In all remember to drink plenty of water because caffine dehydrates you. Tiredness is also caused by dehydration of the brain so drink water to keep the oxygen flowing to your brain.

Maybe that explains it, I think I'm just dehydrated all the time. Caffine burns me out, I feel muscle pains after 3hours taking in caffine drinks.

I could have sworn I read or heard somewhere (in the Personal Learning Course?) that caffeine use hinders PR and is not recommended....Does anyone else remember this?

Kaiden is certainly right about Spring Forest QiGong, but if your pocket change can't afford that, then I'd recommend plenty of water, sort of like what Alex said. I've found that tons of fresh air from outside combined with plenty of water will make me more relaxed and alert than anything else. Of course, that's just me.

Yes that is correct. Caffeine dehydrates a person and therefore robs the brain of energy to function fully. A small amount has been found to be helpful for memory and could be helpful to some during the activation process. Total abstinance is not required for successful photoreading. On the whole drinking more water is the best bet.

Thank Goodness! So I can have 1-2 cups of morning coffee and it will not affect my PRing?

Yes and prior to actually photoreading, going to class or lectures, sitting down to study etc, drink water to rehydrate .

You know, it's a good thing total abstinence from coffee isn't required. I gotta have a cup just once a month...*Drools.* Mmmmm.
