It's all about "disproving" things that the author doesn't like. He covers massage, altered states of consciousness, the unconscious mind, repressed memories, and many other "myths." I think it's rather amusing.

I find it equally amusing that everytime a woo-woo comes across a critical thinker, he immediately considers this person a "debunker" out on a vehement quest to discredit those that "Beleive."

I challenge you to find an entry/article on Dr. Carroll's site that is written purely out of bias and disgust toward "things he doesn't like."

Since hypnosis leads one to an altered state of consciousness, and since the author doesn't believe those exist, it must be all fake. He cites media hype and stage shows for this. Hypnosis can be used to retrieve repressed memories, which he also doesn't believe in, so again it must be fake. He's biased toward himself.

Kind of a rigid mindset to expect others to conform to your ideals don't you think?

Most of the forum member enjoy something different its one of the things that keep us burning new neural pathways and ensuring we have an active healthy mind when we reach 'old age'.

If you are refusing to give it a decent try, and let go of your concrete mindset, just because there is "nothing that can prove it works," then please either disprove it, and do more than just talking about it here. If you can prove that it doesn't work, then be my guest!

If it's evidence and proof you want, no amount of anyone else's submissions will be enough for you. You have to either prove it, or disprove it for yourself.

I read that thing and found it very interesting. Indeed Saraswati is a Contrarian Troll--sort of like a bully that never grew up.
