I hope to get a better understanding about PR from some of your replies.

Please reply, the sooner the better thanks

1. From what i have seen, you blurrily look at a page in a book, and even though it is blurry, your mind "gets it"
If that is so, how can you understand what you were looking at if it was blurry and if...I'm confused about that

2. Is PR just about activating information in your mind? i want to read fast and understand it as well, both at a FAST pace. what can PR do for me concerning that??

3. I have heard about "reading genius" that could be better, i read a website (very slowly i might add) that said people prefer reading genius over PR, what information can you give me about that??

4. I want to be able to enjoy books as i read them, is that possible?? will i know what i'm reading?? again, it is not clear to me how the system works.

5. I've read that people have done the process and they don't know if it "worked" or not. If i were to buy this product, i would need to have more reliability than that.

6. How does this compare to regular old speed reading?

7. When i'm not photoreading, will my regular reading still be slow??

During the course of the Photoreading, you enter the Photofocus, which is the blurring you may have read about. In this state, you absorb the information straight into your other-than-conscious mind. At this point, you will have no conscious comprehension of the material yet. There are other activation steps in the Photoreading Whole Mind System to bring the information out. It helps both memory and comprehension to have the information already in your other-than-conscious.

PR is about putting the information into your other-than-conscious and then retrieving it. Because it is already in your other-than-conscious mind, reading and comprehension both become faster even if you do nothing else. If you employ the other steps of the process, then you should be able to bring your reading time down to one-third.

I am not overly familiar with RG, so I'll leave that for someone better qualified to answer.

Yes, you can still enjoy the novels and fiction which you might still wish to read normally. In this case, one might use the Photoreading step alone (without other activation techniques), blasting the information into the other-than-conscious, and then just reading it normally. You will probably find that it is easier to follow and more engaging.

With the PR seminar, I believe the percentage of people who successfully grasp Photoreading is over 95%. If you're considering the home study course, then more effort will be required on your part. In both cases, it is possible to succeed as long as you're willing to play with the system and stick it through. Naturally, the forum provides a useful resource, and if you get stuck, you can still call up LSC for personal coaching once you buy the course.

As you have probably gathered, the techniques employed are quite a bit more advanced than speed reading. I think the distinctions are quite clear based on what I've said, but if you need some more specifics, please do tell.

To begin with, I don't see why one would want to return to regular reading after using Photoreading. Even if you're reading for enjoyment, you would still Photoread first to put the information in your mind, and then activate it from there by regular reading. Once you've done this, your regular reading should speed up. Furthermore, I have found that the activation steps train you to pick up information more quickly anyway, so even without Photoreading first, you should still see an increase in your speed.

Do a search of the forum on Reading Genius... one course might work better for some than others. One factor you need to consider with Reading Genius is that you need to have the music going every time you intend to read. This is not always practical.

The activation steps after PhotoFocus through the entire book, are basically nothing fancy. They're just normal reading of the material, but with questions in mind to draw out the most important information. The entire process allows you to build your comprehension in layers, which makes it good for saying 10 minutes = core ideas, 20 = 1st level of detail, etc.

What KWLee didn't tell you about, is some of the more amazing things that can happen later that LSC seems to emphasize a lot, often times misleading people. For instance, there's 'spontaneous activation,' which is when this information that you've already put into your other-than-conscious mind(or subconscious) comes up to your conscious awareness, but you're not sure how! This means that facts, details, theories, etc. from these books can pop up into your consciousness without any reading necessary. This is not what the entire course revolves around, and often times only happens every once and a while, but the more you practice, the faster you naturally become with PhotoReading.

Myself, I read almost a book a night. I'm beginning to be able to pull in vast amounts of information in just 40 minutes, often times with somethign like a 300 page book.

The reason it misleads people, is because they're expecting the course to be able to do this, or even beyond that, immediately! I'd say one of the main things that separates PhotoReading from normal speed reading, though, is how you naturally become faster with practice, and you don't even have to do any 'exercises' in between to keep yourself at a high rate of speed, like you often do with speed reading courses. With PhotoReading, you start out being three times faster than your original reading speed, and then work your way up more and more as time goes on, usually without even trying. So, there's the challenge of learning the system, and then the effortlessness of feeling it grow, expand, and be used in a new, awesome way.

Just a week nights ago, I experienced the first book I completely understood from cover to cover, in just 7 minutes.

More Questions:
1. so in order to read a book for fun, you would spend maybe 30-45 min. photoreading, and then you would read it again the old fashioned way, But the reason it would be faster is that you would already know what was in the book, is that correct??
2. In order to read a book for a test at school, you would just photoread it, and when you see the questions on the test, that would activate it, is that correct??
3. When you photoread, will you know what you are reading? or will you feel insecure about looking at a book with out seeing the words and with out understanding it and just HOPE Photoreading worked?
4. If i photoread a dictionary, will i know more vocabulary, or will i just be able to navigate myself through out the book.
5. I'm very skeptical about if the Photofocus works, where you stare at some words and make your vision blurry, and supposedly, you will uderstand the "blurr"

1. You would spend about 5 min. Photoreading, then you would rapid read the book. Rapid reading is faster than regular reading. Yes. Your other than conscious mind will know whats in the book.
2. Don't count on it. You would activate it before taking the test so that you know all of the stuff consciously. Although the test could possibly lead to some spontanious activation.
3. When I started Photoreading, which wasnt that long ago, I got the feeling that all of the information was in my head. And no I didnt feel insecure about the information being there.
4. AlexK
5. No you do not understand the blurr. Your comprehension comes from activation which is super reading, dipping, and/or skittering. I was a bit skeptical at first as well. But it really does work.
Note: Thes answers are based on what others more expierenced than me have put. Ok ok from AlexK.

GET sleep. which is the most important aspect of life itself. Do look for conious gains with PRing before you delude yourself in thinking pageflipping and lack of studying will gain automatic A's. (I have experience)

4. PhotoReading the dictionary will allow you to more easily integrate new vocabulary, and recognize certain words/their definitions, and will also probably help a tiny bit with your general comprehension of words itself. May also improve spelling. Who knows??

5. The only way that's decently concrete to prove to yourself that PhotoFocus works, is to PhotoRead a book and then activate it in your dreams, using lucid dreaming techniques. That's also the most fun way. It really does put the information into your subconscious.

WARNING: PhotoReading may cause EXCESSIVE mind clutter. *Rubs head.* Oy...book a day gets you THINKING like mad...

Chang Liu - the dreaming slacking prer

my goal was to end up PRing and activate 5-10 books a day. I'm working my way up.

Start with books like.

Spot going to the beach! "See spot run, run spot run!"

No, read whatever you like. Ask some good questions, and before you know it, you PRed your first book and activate it already. Horray!

PRing is like taking a dump, you HAVE to do it or your not going be at ease.
