I've been using the system for around a little over a year. Activation time is on average 20-50 minutes.

Photoread as often as you want. If you're working towards having it flow in your life you will probably photoread 5 to 10 books a day and activate at least one per week, for a couple of months. (It increases your chances of spontaneous activation)

Photoreading a dictionary may help improve your vocabulary, if you work with a conscious intent to improve your vocabulary or even knowing the meaning then that will probably happen. Just remember the use it or lose it rule. Your conscious mind dumps currently useless information faster than you can say rip van wrinkle. If it doesn't fit with your day to day useage it's unlikely that you'll be a walking dictionary any time soon

I was reading the Einstein Factor, the author of which is also the creator of genius code, mentions that PR'ing uses some of the same theory as subliminal messages use.
One example the author uses was back in 1954, a movie theater tested the idea of subliminal messages on it's patrons.
It flashed messages like "Hungry? Eat Popcorn" and Drink Coca-cola". The messages were up on the screen for 40 milliseconds, a shorter amount of time than the pages you're photoreading, and the sales of popcorn went up 57.7% and coke sales 18.1%
The moral was that the conscious mind would have been unable to catch the subliminal messages because it went by too fast, just like your conscious mind won't be able to pick up what you're photoreading. Doesn't mean your brain didn't catch the info and is processing it subconsciously processing it, like the fact that food sales increased at the movie theater. Does this help any?

I am not sure about the truth in this, but I have heard that someone falsified the results of the "movie theater test"...

Not necesarily aruguing that subliminals do or don't work, just stating a rumor. Has anyone else heard this one?

Yes, I've heard about this. Not sure what the truth is on that matter.

Hmmmm...10 a day, but only activate 1 per week? Hmmmm... I been activating everything I get my hands on, for the sake of playing around. Not perfect pure concious gains, I leave those alone or play more with those books... Time is relative I guess

What's your suggestion? I have been PR'ing for a long while--7-8 months or so--but I hardly ever activate. I mean, maybe 25% of the books I've PR'ed I've activated only because I have to. I am I a slacker? Or crazy? Is it helping, or should I work on my activation skills?

Mostly I just PR it, and maybe freenote it if I really need to...

Depends... Whatever satifies your purpose. I personally think that is not PRing if you don't full gain from books. And if you have no idea as to what the steps or how to do the steps, then you are not PRing. Similar to my situation...

activate!!! 25% is good enough if that will trip your trigger. not 25% comprehension though, LOL.

Only freenote to activate?

If 25% represents 16 to 25 books during that time I'd say cool

If it's only about 4 and not actually fully activated. My guess would be you fear activation. If you really want an answer to; are you a slacker? possibly yes and is it really helping? possibly no.

If you were reaching your goals with photoreading there would be no doubt in your mind that you are doing enough and activating enough... your words "only if I have to" indicates that you don't activate for the fun of it. You're really the best judge, the more books you fully activate the greater the likelyhood you will experience spontaneous activation. By posting the questions on the forum you seem to be indicating personal doubts.

When you get the same or better comprehension out of a book in 1/3 the time it normally took you be impressed and that comprehension usually sticks with you longer than regular reading does. It's something to celebrate. Considering that with use and regular activation that time gets reduced to mere hours or minutes instead of days. Add to that a mind map (and mind maps using the whole brained approach are better and easier to review than freenoting which is why we prefer them for recording) you got a way to do a 2 to 10 minute review prior to a test.

Question is what is your goal and do you think you are getting there?
