Once upon a time, nobody could scientifically prove the Sun wasn't powered by the gods!! Science couldn't prove that disease wasn't just a curse! Science advances. One day, as long as ppl pursue it, the science behind photoreading will be revealed. Personnaly, I don't care if it does what it says or not, as long as I can read 3x faster!!

Here is a thread in which I posted some of the numbers I found when considering you type of question.

Oh and just a note on Science. It is the discipline of trying to create a consistant model of the physical world based on observations. If the observation is that Photoreading works, them it's Sciences job to ensure that it's model(s) can explain the observation.

Science doesn't say what can and can't be achieved it just tries to understand what can and can't. The value of a model it can predict what "may" be possible even if it hasn't been observed yet.

Hooray for An0therN00b
The only promise that I remember is that the possiblity to read 3 times faster is claimed. Hmmmmmmmmmm I have often pondered the question "does God Exist" and each time I always fall upon acceptance as so thusly acknowledging it to be then applying faith on a belief while remembering faith is an "action."

I know very little of the "scientific" proofs of PHOTOREADING, though I am aware of the many research projects surrounding the thesis of PHOTOREADING. I also have discovered through research, limited as it may be via the internet, that there are a host of competitors of LSC with similar or same-as products based on the "thesis."

Since you, Saraswati, have not spent the "green" I wonder if you have sought out the information from only this site or researched the premis on the net. Have you "checked out the book" from your public or collegate library. If you have done this and read the book you will readily recall that on page fifteen stated in bold "You cannot READ at 25,000 words per minute." Also, reading into the second paragraph it states, "No one's "conscious mind" can read that fast. Photoreading is not "reading as we know it."

Seems simple enough to me. No hidden message there. It must not be reading as I have been conditioned over some forty years to believe. Aha, there is that all powerful word again-believe. I still cannot explain belief yet to any one person's understanding. It seems they always accept and acknowldedge this "concept," with their own personal experience, which is limited to their own senses and of course their mind and it's complexities.

I have read the works of Julian Jaynes several times and I still am unable to get all of therories. Funny, the esteemed disciipline of psychology has even evloved into psychiatry seeking to answer some or all of these therories, which most significantly is Jayne's solution to the bicameral mind is that consciousness is a metaphor, a realtionship between two or more unlike experiences joined by likenesses.

Ah, I have wondered some maybe, yet us still explore some more. I have listened to a few of the paraliminal tapes extensively with the goal of bettering my skills as a photoreader. For this discussion let us agree that a "photoreader" is an individual who seeks to gain information through the use of the whole mind system called "PHOTOREADING" as taught through the tuteledge of Paul Scheele.

Well anyways the work of Edward De Bono and his discussions of "lateral thinking,' the combined works of Getzel, Jackson and Hudson with tge creativity and divergent and convergent thought and learning, the positive regard of Carl Rogers and of course Abrams Maslow's hierarchy of needs comes to mind. I cannot explain these and yet the scientific community being that of many and various disciplines accept, acknowledge and have built upon these works. So I humbly ask can not a lowly and humble paper pusher of a tire warehouse not accept, acknowledge and consciously believe in both the "photoreading" whole mind system and the personally observed and socially observed subtle changes that may be caused by "paralimanal" tapes?

To seek scientific proof is can be justified since the expense for some may seem exhorbatant, yet their is the public library and come on the book cost less than 5 whoppers, 3 fries and 6 strawberry shakes or even a large pepperoni pizza. Which would you feel could challenge your, Saraswati, intellect more? Alas, be one of the memebers of the group who seek to disprove. At least do it scientifically.

Personally, after falling into lapses recalled memory of the constructs of the vastly complex human mind and reading the simple bibliography of the "photoreading" book I have enought to apply faith, remembering for me personally faith is an action and not passivity.

Saraswati, thankyou for allowing me the opportunity to respond with my thoughts and some of my convictions. I do ramble and that alas is how I am, but I am I and I know who I am.

Master educators do not want to put it into schools because of a highly felt risk of failure. They're afraid of change, and most schools are also on a nickel-and-dime budget. Especially my district, which recently lost four million dollars, and as had to make drastic changes to keep going.

Because there is no concrete proof that PhotoReading works, and no concrete proof that it doesn't work, along with the(I will definitely admit) misleading advertising claims, this has made many uncertain, unsure, and unapproving of teaching PhotoReading in schools.

Also, most schools do not teach kids how to learn, and have other problems piled on top of this to deal with. Rather than usually altering their teaching methods to differing learning styles, public schools in this country have labeled an overadundance of children with 'learning disabilities' like ADD/ADHD.
