That sounds more like an excuse than something you have actually experienced in relation to having photoread in a library. Yes there are people who like to snub people doing something different. You're not going to tell me that they won't mock you for a comment like "I say I been reading since I was 2, and now I have perfect photographic memory That is easiest for them to call your bluff on. They will say prove it and ask you to 'read' from your photographic memory the book you have in your hand, could you?
Really why don't you just say, "photoreading" when they ask? If they ask what photoreading is you can explain it or just say 'it's something that I do'. If they start mocking it... isn't that just proof that they are ignorant of what photoreading is?
