One thing that people who are successful in any field is they have a thirst for knowledge in that field.
The want to know it, they get excited and curious about it. When you're excited about something you go out searching for more.
If you want to past biology you are going to have to have more curiosity and interest. No matter what you do photoreading wise if you keep telling yourself it's not important to you, you don't need it and are not interested in it. Your mind is going to take that as an affirmation and respond according to your 'expressed' needs and expectation.
Get excited about it you start finding information comes to you and you learn to the level that is important to you.
