I think the problem here is that you don't see any reason to be excited in your chemistry class because you haven't developed the curiosity that is at the root of all science. If you don't have that willingness to understand how chemistry works and why, you won't have the motivation to do scientific research. Your reason for being in chemistry and biology class becomes the linchpin or taproot of all you do.
I'd suggest you take a weekend and PR + rapidread (without activation) scientific biographies of history's great chemists and biologists to give you a broad idea of how you fit into the historical flow of the field. Then you'll understand that chemistry isn't a boring thing set in stone but a series of experiments that you may choose to add on to if you follow in the field. And finally you'll see that before the huge deluge of data, chemistry and biology starts with a person asking an often very simple question.
