I personally would never use an affirmation like that. The mind is very literal and while you may only really wish to increase the neural pathways and connections so that your mathematical skills improve. That affirmation could cause harm in the sense of giving you a brain growth of an undesirable nature.
Perhaps a self suggestion of, 'I am photoreading this material improve my maths skills so that I can... (add what you want to use the skills for). Or I am photoreading and activating this text so that I can... (add your purpose e.g. answer the the questions in the upcoming algebra exam.)
When you have an affirmation make it specific, state the end result you really desire. PhotoReading so as to increase your brain mass... well you might get the results you asked for but is that what you really want?
