Whatever is comfortable is ok for the width of the blip. Most say theirs is about an inch or 2 (2 to 5cm).

You can just soften your gaze and notice the pattern of white on the page if holding the blip page becomes a strain. Yes you might be crossing your eyes. You can check with a stereogram (3D image) If the pictures cave in like a hole then you are crossing your eyes.

Take in both pages at once. On page 48 next to the Einstein jogging... no blip no problem explains an easy way to get started if the blip page and taking in both pages at once is a problem.
