I just PRed my second book and was tested on it...I felt TEN times more knowledgable on the subject.. I really felt I had a great understanding and feel of the book and the authors intent. I took the test (a 50 question multiple choice test) and got a 78% I spent a total of about 1 hr and 45min. with the book.

So, what can I do to improve? Like I said, I REALLY felt CONFIDENT, yet I didn't do that great on the test.

Should I have spent more time with the text? Maybe done another 90 minute session with 3-30 minute passes?

Is there anyting I can do to improve my activation? Any tips from experienced PRer's?

I got another test coming up this week and I'm determined to make Photoreading work for me. I know I'm getting more comfortable with the system, but I need a good score to boost my confidence and give me future guidance with the system.

So, what do you think?

Confidence sometimes isn't enough. However, when you consider what you've accomplished with a 78% after only an hour and 45 mins, don't you think that's pretty good for your second try?

Try mind mapping, using color, and if you can:illustrations, but it's not necessary, after each 30 minute pass. Branch out in the layers of knowledge that you're building after each pass. If you want, try just sketching out a rough mind map, and then redo a clean one. You'll often find that mind mapping can almost automatically put stuff down on paper that you didn't even know you knew. Have you tried this?

Yes, I have practiced the mindmapping technique during all of my activation sessions. I try to do as much as I can from what I learned from the preview and photoread..Then as I take a 30 minute pass, I branch out the info I am gathering from my pass. I continue to add to it using as much color and pictures as I can, which isn't always that many (maybe 3 or 4 pictures).

I agree that for only 1hr and 45 min. with the material, a 78% isn't that bad..BUT, obviously I can't settle for a C. I need to use my new found skill of PR'ing and get to that A!

I think maybe I should do one or possible even 2 more 90 minute sessions. With 2 90 minute sessions, I would be able to get out information that I didn't catch during my first pass through. I think this would help a lot.

Also, one reason for the grade I received was the questions on the test. I know that if I had to write an essay on the material, I would have passed with flying colors. But it was a multiple choice test and some of the questions were dim and not very staightfoward...All in All, I think I'm on the right track. Any other suggestions??

Try visualizing yourself getting faster and faster with each passing minute, and able to retain greater and greater amounts of information. Imagine what it is like to be able to go at twice the speed you're going now, but with the same comprehension. Try doing this as you're in a relaxed state in the Prepare step, and expect it to take place. Then, let go of worrying about the speed, and carrying on as you normally would.

It's okay to do several sessions until you've built up enough layers in knowledge, but as you move forward, attempt to keep shortening the time. As for the mind mapping, I recommend not doing the mind map until after the activation session. This allows for you to go at an easier, faster flow through the actual text. Then, all you've got to do is think for a few seconds, and write down what you remember onto the mind map. Later on, then try to go and fill in the gaps.

Reconsider your mind probing questions as well. Do you feel that these are getting you what you need, or want?
