I've only been PR'ing for a short time but I think I've found a system of activation that works well for me and might possibly be what you have been looking for too...This is the best method I've found for studying material that you will be tested on and requires a great deal of detail. let me know what you think?
I use the 90 minute session model.(pg 86 "PR'ing Whole Mind System" book)
Divide your book into sections. Let's take the PhotoReading Whole Mind System Book for example..
There are 3 main sections. So do a 30 minute pass on each section following the 90 minute model. Total time: 90 minutes
Then, go back for your second session and instead of doing 30 minute passes, do a 20 minute pass on each section. Dip into new information, building upon the foundation of your first pass. Total time: 60 minutes
Lastly, and only if necessary, do a 3rd session this time doing 10 minute passes on each section. Once again, don't rebuild your foundation. Dip into new material and fill in the blanks as you go. Total time: 30 minutes.
If you do all 3 sessions, you will spend a total time of 3 hours with the material. I found this approach gives me maximum results when I need great detail on the subject.
If their are more than 3 sections in your book, follow the same pattern of reducing time with each pass, but adjust your times to give you an amount of time with the material that feels right for you and satisfies your purpose.
I thought I would share this for newbies to PR'ing as I am one. I did my first PR using the 5 day plan and I didn't feel as connected with the material. I started using the 90 minute session model (pg 86 of the Whole Mind System book) and it has been much better for me personally...
