So he just scans for key words? Where did you come about this information? It seems to work though because he has a good comprehension rate. As for advanced problem solving, i believe he is known for techniques he has invented for solving difficult problems. It just said this on the back of the case. Ill have to try this key word thing. Maybe it works? By the way, what is this direct learning?

Direct learning is a skill included in the Natural Brilliance Home Study Course, and book where you're able to subconsciously intergrate better skills and behaviors effortlessly, without any or little conscious intention.

I think I'd rather be Paul Scheele.

Berg wrote a book on speed reading. It has the faster and faster approach and suggests without comprehension reading 2 lines at a time, then 3, then the whole paragraph (which doesn't make sense as one might be more than 7 lines, even in his book, and it is hard to count the lines when looking with peripheral vision).

In the book he says "you don't actually read at...", he then says the whole key word crap. He also focus on everything but the actual text, having you look at things like the copyright information, and whatever the hell else there is that does little to support the reading.

Berg also mentions that once he had to read a book on tv, and that he would have bombed the whole thing if the book didn't list the character names and some other stuff inside the jacket cover. He said the book was tricky because the names were confusingly similar, so when he "read" he could tell the differene between characters which he would have messed up otherwise.

I only read about a third before stopping because the book expects you to be a "super reader" even though it just told you the drills, and it has all this crap about schema, and other stuff I would never want to use. It also has some meditation stuff, but when I read the section it was actually just a way the get a fake high!

I really dislike how speed reading courses teach you tons of different ways to weed out information, I just want to increase my actual reading speed not reduce the number of words I actually read.
