I have the personal learning course for photoreading and I have gone through most of it but it didn't seem to work. I am wondering what I am doing wrong I have read these discussion boards for tips but I just can't seem to get it to work. The first thing I am wonding is how do I know when I am in a state of ready alertness like I relax and use the tangerine technique but nothing seems to change except I am a little more relaxed. I think I have previewing down very well but I'm not sure about photo focus. I can'tell if I'm seeing the blip page naturally or by crossing my eyes. I have tried looking behind it and it worked for the blip but then when I tried to move my point of focus through the blook my vision changes a bit and I seem to cross my eyes to do it though I don't know if I really am. Should I jsut give up on the blip page and just use the x technique?
after each photoreading session I can't tell if I got anything out of the book like my emotions haven't even changed towards the book. the only new information I have learned from it is what I got in the preview. I have attempted to photoread over 10 books now and I don't know if I know anything from them. I have made sure that all the books were with in my reading level and that I was interested in them so that it might make it easier but no such luck.
I also have had very little luck with activating. It's all gone horribly wrong for me and I really really want to learn it because like many others I have piles of material that I would like to read but I just don't have the time or the patience for my slow regular reading speed. I would appreciate any help that anyone can give me.
Thanx

I too, have many problems and doubts concerning the home study course. I'm desperate for an easier way to get things done with so much to do!! I certainly wish it were a lot easier.

Anyway, for the blip page, I've diverged my eyes my whole life, so I have some exp with that. Try this...look at any single object, close or cover one eye, then uncover it. Double objects should appear. Even if you still see one, they should have seemed to merge from 2 to 1 while uncovering one eye. Let me know if it works!

whitehair, am I correct in understanding you haven't completed the home study course yet? If so I suggest you keep going with it and not get hung up trying to get it 100% right the first time through.

This site explains parallel viewing (what you use to see the blip page. http://www.vision3d.com/3views.html

When it comes to seeing the blip page I say don't sweat it. The X technique works just fine.

As for not noticing anything out of your photoreading... that's normal. Continue with the course and it all comes together.

If you're having difficutly activating check your purpose and your mind probing questions unless you have clear questions you're not going to find many answers in the text.

While you are learning be patient with yourself the live seminar is a 2.5 day full on course and studying on your own you need to allow yourself at least the same amount of time for learning. Like Paul says approach it with a playful attitude.

Thank you for your replies. That site did clearify what I am suppose to be doing with my eyes but I have been able to do both the parallel and the cross-viewing for a long time with stereographs and I'm not sure if I will be able to tell the difference when look at a printed page because it feels the same to me when I look at stereographs I just know the difference because the image either buldges out or looks back farther. I have completed through tape 7 and I would go on to eight but would like 7 to work for me first and 7 is where you photoread a book of your choice that is around 200 pages long. I am really determined to get this to work and am thankful for the help. I was wondering if there was some way I could tell if I got anything out of the photoreading like a comprenssion test or something that could show I got something out of it. one thing I noticed when I recently tried to photoread again is that when I'm in photofocus my eyes switch back and forth between dominacy as if they are taking turns fucusing on the page. I was wondering if this was a sign that I am using the cross eye method thing or not? Thanks for your help

In all probablity you are just getting used to photofocus and each eye is compensation hence the switching effect.

As long as your gaze remains relaxed you are probably using parallel vision. If you experience eyestrain then you are probably crossing them. The key is to relax.

There is a comprehension test for the Natural Brilliance book that came with the course in the manual. Other than that you might want a book that quizes you at the end. The end result for a book that is fully gelled for you is comprehenion to a level that you are accustomed to gaining from regular reading. It should be the same or better. In other words you should be able to talk about the book as well or better than you normally do.

Thank you Alex you have been great help. I was wondering if there was some way I could us it with a computer screen and then just hold down page down. I was also wondering how often I need to activate. Like should I do it with every book or will I still get the information out of the book if I don't activate I just won't know it is there untill my brain gives it to me when I need it? I read/heard some where that I should activate one book a week but photoread as many as I desire. Is that a good idea of it? Thanks for your help so far it's been really enlightening.

I was also wondering if you photoread everything you read of moderate length like the longer bbs.

For computers use the X technique that' the easiest. Yes I do photoread anything and everything of moderate lenght it guides me to what is important in activation.

You are only going to have the information come up on a as you need it basis if you have done enough activation otherwise. Activation means to get active with your reading material asking questions pondering the authors ideas noticing what you agree/disagree with etc. If you don't do that then you inner mind has no reason to present the information to your conscious mind.

The more you activate the easier activation becomes. Even spontaneous activation is triggered with a sense of curiosity or questions.

Photoread 3 to 10 books a day and activate one per week for a couple of months helps to make the photoreading process second nature for you. Really applying it to all your reading material daily is what makes it easier to activate.

I have tried the new sugestions and althoguh I now think that I can get into photofocus I still don't seem to be getting anything out of the reading. I recently photoread a book on computers and then the next day I read the questions at the end of the chapters to see if I could get them and I couldn't. I didn't get any that I wouldn't have gotten before the test. I was wondering if you have any idea on what I am doing wrong.

Hi

Have you finished the personal learning course yet? If you're only up till the PhotoReading bit, I suggest you carry on - the materials need to be triggered back using manual activation, which is described later on in the tapes.
