Hi,

It's almost that time again to commit 100% of my life to school for another 8 months, (hopefully PRing will lower that number). I have a question about the break in between study session.

You're all familiar with the 30 minute blocks with small breaks in between, then a larger break after every third block(or about 90 min) right?

So is the purpose of this study break to rest the mind from learning or thinking at all, or is it just to give the mind a break from that specific topic?

The reason I am asking this is because I could use that time for other things, but I'm not sure if the 'other things' are supposed to be low intensity thinking type stuff.

I would like to study for the 3, 30 min blocks and then maybe listen to a paraliminal. It would probably be Personal Genius or Memory Supercharger. I know paraliminals are relaxing, but they also bombard the brain with ideas and commands.

So what’s the verdict? Just veg and do nothing or is using my brain or using a paraliminal a possible option?

Go for it. The idea of the break is to allow the non conscious processor to take over and integrate it for you. Any other activity that takes your mind off it is great and a paraliminal has the added advantage of relaxing you. The mind never stops thinking anyway. It's usually easier to change the subject before it decides it's had enough with the one you are on

That's all I needed to hear. Thank you Alex.
