Set realistic goals for yourself sire83/Sara.
It would have been best if you had worked on activation while you were gaining your photofocus skills.
Have you tried activating any book yet?
Chunk down that textbook into chapters. Treat each chapter as if it were a book itself.
Steps:
Photoread the whole book; yes in one sitting if you can it may take you 10 to 20 minutes so if you feel you need a break turn back 12 pages or so and start photoreading from there so you have a slight overlap if you do the book in sections.
Activate for 30 minutes go through the whole book. It shouldn't take you more than 30 minutes. You are only trying to get a feeling, idea, visual impact of the content of the book.
activate Begin with the chapter that most interests you. Take a moment prior to activating this chapter to photoread that chapter the one or 2 before it and the 1 or 2 after it. Work in layers. I.e. in 20 to 30 minute blocks activate that chapter and take a break then in another 20 to 30 minute block activate further. Repeat these cycles till the chapter/book has gelled for you.
Ideally as Iam2 has already stated. It is best to learn the photoreading system on books where you have no emotional investments involved. Once you know the system you can confidently use it efficently on any material.
