Whitehair, Seeing you have trouble with activation I am really more interested in whether you superread and dip or skitter for activation.

How long is each your activation passes.

To me your purpose is a bit vague and out there because it is important to you you also need a way of 'measuring' if you've achieved it. On the whole the book will tell you many ways to learn and remember not all of it is important to you so you want to activate the book quickly to find the information that is valuable.

I suggest you try rephrasing your purpose. 'To find information that I can put into immediate use to learn and remember what I studied better.'

On trigger words for mind maps. Since you are learning to use mind maps. Write your trigger words on a piece of paper at random. After photoreading link words with coloured pens that you can relate to similar questions. Write the questions along the lines. Since this is scrap paper you can draw as freely as you want. It's only going to be around as long as you want it for activating. When activating your trigger words may or may not wind up on your core mind map. Some of them may not even be used as starter questions since they are starting points to being an active reader.
