Thanks for the question Iam2 I remembered a tip Paul gave that I haven't had actually tired for myself yet. I'm pretty sure we'll do it at the retreat on a repeated basis I do want to make a note of it in my instructors manual.
Might really surprise you that there have been some interesting techniques and developments that makes it easier to use photoreading on a daily basis. The home study course covers all you need to know to use it and if you search the forum you get ideas what to try and experiment with.
I've attended Pauls seminar twice and each time I managed to pick up the the significance of some aspect of what he is teaching. The why it is in the course and that it's probably more important than you realise. Like they've said if they could make the home study course shorter they would.
So missing is some of the deep reasons why such things are in the couurse for example thee tangerine technique. In the course there is only time got go try it and see. Did you notice your concentration improve? Response Yes well it was easier to to read more and I managed to read 5 lines more in that time big deal? The deal is that in a class or when you're listening to the tapes you're already more focused to what's going on. What about when you came home the with some important reading that you would like to get activated in the next 20 to 30 minutes. The kids are screaming at play in the other room, your wife wants to know if you're available for a fundtion on Saturday just wanted to strangle your co worker and your bus broke down on the way home? What happens when you try to activate now. And you're one of the ones that happened to have the system working comfortably for you that the tangerine technique is forgotten. So activation isn't working and you're getting more annoyed rather than using the tangerine technique to help with your focus.
To be fair this bit of information goes over the tops of the seminar many of attendees heads too. They've taken on so much learning in those 2 days that the significance of being able to read three to five lines more with better clarity and understanding or even only the same number of lines with the better clarity and focus is lost.
At the last retreat we were gushing with excitement about what we learnt and seriously I had the impression that Paul was thinking along the lines of, 'they've taken all they can, I cannot give them anymore... but there's so much more, why is the day so short?'
I seriously doubt Paul would hold a 5 day photoreading retreat if he cannot build on what you learn in the homestudy course or live seminar. He's offering techniques to improve our concentration, and strategies that are often only alluded to here on the forum.
