My speed is by far superior than my original reading speed. And even my comprehension outshines. I couldn't score it on a scale but I can say if it wasn't for the fact that I was able to photoread and understand my course material as a result of photoreading I would not have passed a 12 month full time course in 6 weeks (3 years part time) I would have been forced to quit the course by default.
What helped me most along the way was fogetting everything I thought I knew about photoreading and doing the course with the "beginner mind" I also approached it with a sense of play. I was curious to know why Paul wanted me to do that 'star of wonder excercise' for the record I almost bored a hole through my book trying to get round that star, I was relieved when the time was up. When Paul pointed out how we tend to keep doing the same thing even though we know it isn't working... well it helped me to ease up on myself and just play with it. I learnt something from that and I think that's really the case with each exercise in the course. Let go an notice what happens. There is no right or wrong outcome... just an experience. What you liked about the experience you'll want to repeat what you didn't like you'll want to adjust.
