If you're going to write your paper based on those books activate them. Use syntopic reading for your paper. Use additional books that you don't need to activate to help you write the paper let them influence your writing from a non conscious level.
In your situation I would have 10 books on the subject. 5 of which I would be using for my research paper and all of which I would be photoreading on a rotational basis (5 per day) till I'm ready to start writing the paper. after about a week of photoreading these 10 books I would select the most helpful 5 to activate for the paper. If the topic of the paper has been provided I would do a syntopic mind map. If I have to find a topic I would do an exporitory mind map first, then do the syntopic mind map.
