Remember that the effects of PRing are not necessarily in the form of text, so it may be hard to believe it helps for math. However, PR can definitely aid in problem solving fluency. I know that algebra can be abstract, but perhaps you should think outside the box (if you don't already), and see it more than just math problems, but life applications. Some great mathematicians used math for great fun and discovery.

I once asked the almost exact same question about PR aiding in later conscious reading. (but mine asked about activation in general)
It certainly will not hurt to do so, and would most likely help. E.G. Why PR dictionaries once a day, and regular books only once? PRing anything several times has to help on some level.

Feel comfortable with the steps, and don't beat yourself up trying to. (I know I have)
