Brian, your thoughts fascinate me. Yet, a bit about the logic of you are what you do. If you are what you do, then when you don't - you aren't.
That's right.
Unstructured time.
Unstructured time is ... the root of unhappiness for all thinking persons. It is only when you have the time to reflect on how horrible your life is that, well, your life is horrible!
When you're engaged in a task, when you are of one mind, when your attention is unfractured ... ego takes a hike.
Really, as long as you are constantly engaged in something, "YOU ARE", in the truest sense of the word, in the truest sense of being.
And when you stop, as you suggest, "YOU AREN'T" ... you're back to thinking and talking and trying to make sense of things that make no intrinsic sense. You're back to your self/ego delusions.
Unstructured time......
unstructured time. unstructured time, unstructured time.
You know, when my time is not structured, my mind tries to impose order on these things that intrinsicly have no order--an order of delerium. I see patterns that aren't there. I acknowledge patterns that aren't there. I respond to patterns that...just aren't there. Phantoms of the mind. Fear conditioning. The limits of my personal world reappear.
I wish I could come to terms with the fact that I am nothing. Just as an animal is nothing and an enlightened man is nothing.
Just as with, "you are what you do" , you are nothing.
The mind phantoms would vanish forever, independent of fully engaged action.
Illusions, gone.
...I begin to think that the sounds and pictures, smells, sensations inside my head are nothing more than hallucinations. Dreams. They aren't real. What I see is real, concrete. But that internal mind stuff, that voice of myself I can make inside my head... it all makes me think that we are non-overt Paranoid Schitzophrenics. Seeing illusions and fearing illusions...all inside our head.
I see I have digressed.
4AM musings..... don't mind me.
