Hi, direct learning is a powerful process for us to learn new behaviours without activation of the book. I would like to know if anyone has successful experiences esp in improving characters and personalities.

Besides, if I am interested in the info of the book and would like to learn new behaviour at the same time, will concious activation worsen the unconcious learning by direct learning?

I have such question as Dr Wenger said that subliminal advertisements work because it passes our concious filter so we buy the products eagerly and we won't be eager to buy if we can read the message by concious mind as it would be filtered immediately. So I wonder if concious activation would filter out something?

Yes. The conscious mind does act as a filter.

At the same time it cannot influence you if it goes against your morals or beliefs. So what works for one person with direct learning can be blocked by another so that they do not get the same benefits. For that reason Direct Learning will be a case of try it and see. By activating it you can undermind the process because you start creating expectations as to how the experience is 'supposed' to manifest itself. In your case it might be manifesting differently but because the experience isn't what you 'expect' the actual manifestation is being ignored and invalidated.

In other words by activating the book you risk looking out the wrong window rather than going with the flow.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your advice. Indeed I find myself lacking self esteem and that's why I'm always so skeptical and love criticizing. I would like to build self esteem by direct learning. But it seems to be impossible if I don't even know the principles of building self esteem. In other words, I should activate the book as well but I worry my concious filter would worsen my unconcious learning. How should I strike a balance?

Sometimes you can try a hybrid, mixed version of the suggested photoreading technique and the direct learning method.

For instance, in this case you want to make adjustments to your self-esteem. I might try finding all of the best books out there - for instance, all of Anthony Robbins books, books like the Sedona Method, everything that you can find that might be of help on this subject. You might want to preview and weed out some of these that you feel aren't for you. This would leave me with a stack of probably 10 to 20 books, which I would have found at the library or while browsing at the local B&N.

I would photoread as many as I could, taking breaks for a drink of water between books, taking a day or three if needed. Then I would let it all simmer for another day or two - the main thing during this early process is your clear intention and purpose in photoreading the books - to change the behavior for the better. Also, doing the affirmation at the end of each book - "I release the information that I have photoread from my inner mind to my body and conscious mind to process. I am very curious as to how many ways my body and mind can show this information to be available to me."

Then, after a few days, go back and possibly activate in the suggested superreading and dipping methods a book or two. Just relax and know that there is nothing that will stop your modification of this behavior. It is inevitable. Your work with these books is like a river of knowledge that is carving a beautiful new landscape into your personality. Keep with it and maybe even photoread the stack of books every now and then just letting that information continue to simmer and knowing that it will activate through direct learning and maybe consciously activating another book or two every now and then.

Just keep at it and know that nothing can stop this process of growth and change. It is like the shoot slowly but surely growing from the seed, which can and will break through rocks, cement, etc., as it grows into a magnificent tree.

If you're going to go the Direct Learning path. I suggest you follow the outline in the Genius Code course or the Photoreading Book or the Better model in the Natural Brilliance book which gives the script for the Direct Learning project.

Once done leave the books closed for at least a week or more if you can. If you really have the urge to activate any follow the strongest urge for the one. This would be your inner pilot telling you you need to know this consciously. However it's best if you can let go for at least 3 weeks before you start hunting for improvements.

The funny thing about things like Self esteem they tend to show up rather quietly and unannounced.

As for not believing you could learn it from a book without activation. As someone with good self esteem how they do it. You find they have a problem telling you what it is that they do that creates for them the good self esteem. While books are written describing what people think makes for good self esteem and what those people seem to be doing in reality, Self esteem is a personal experience. If you want to 'experience' it. It isn't necessarily through conscious learning that it can be experienced.

I think AlexK is right on about this. I would completely agree that self-esteem would be something that would lend itself to addressing through direct learning. I would try what she suggests - just photoread a stack of books and give it a few weeks to absorb and gell. Don't even worry about trying to consciously activate the material. Just KNOW that it is going to do its work for you at the pace that it will take.

Shall I photoread all the books or photoread one book followed by time line skill and then another book...?

I find groups of 5 to 6. When I do 20 books I usually also do them in blocks of 5 to 6. This means I could do the time line thing with each set over about 4 days after that time I forget about it altogether. I don't put a lot of effort into the timeline thing when I have 20 books I just state my affirmations like for regular photoreading clearly and slightly longer closing affirmation.

With only 5 or 6 books I put the timeline thing into effect. Interesting results each time.

Thanks Alex. Then how long should I wait for incubation before starting another trial of PR of another 6 books? 20 min or one day?

Besides, one more question concerning Genius code course.

It is suggested to listen to the Genius Code Paraliminal Session before and after doing the course.

I just wonder the difference between personal genius and this tape. Is it good to listen to it before and after PR and my regular study rather than listening to personal genius? Because personal genius seems to help me to get into accelearted learning state while genius code enhances my creativity and intelligence so that it seems that I benefit more from this tape. What do you think?
