Keep activating until it has fully gelled for you. The biggest mistake beginners make when it comes to activation is to quit too soon. Expect to make more than one activation pass. Review after each pass whether your questions have been answered, new questions came up and if you still need or want to know more. Then decide if another activation pass is necessary. Reflect back to your purpose to check if more activation is necessary.
Spend less time previewing. No longer than 8 minutes for a book... doesn't matter if it has more 300 pages or 1000 pages... limit yourself to 8 minutes. (Less than 300 consider shortening the preview time).
Consider also shortening the preview to 2 minutes and do a postview of 10 to 15 minutes instead of 5 minutes. (Remember you're supposed to do a short postview to get your curiosity going and start creating those mind probing questions.)
For each person the "sense" of familarity is differen. If you don't get a sense of familarity that's fine too. For some it just a case of I alrready know this stuff and it seems like you knew it before you photoread the book but often you didn't know it though now you have no way of proving it
