I've had the photoreading course for several years, and I'm giving it another try. I'm working with a chapter of a book right now. I've already done the 5 steps, I did prepare, preview, and photoread last night. Tonight I just did activation, and rapid reading. HOWEVER, activation didn't work. My mind only had familiarity with the information I previewed, in fact I super read it as I previewed, so I think I did it wrong. Nonetheless, after I previewed and super read it, I PRed it last night. And then I tried activation and rapid reading. I didn't feel anything during activation, not the slightest hint of anything. But I'm willing to work some more. What do you suggest I do? I thought of should I stick to THIS book or go onto another until I catch on? Should I use the paraliminal? What do you all suggest? Thanks in advance!

When I cant get it to come together such as in your case especially when I was getting strarted Mind Mapping really brought it together. Are you also doing the mind probing question? I would recommend until you have the "hang" of pr to keep the 5 steps seperate. A lot of people had success with the 5 Day test too. I didn't feel I was getting anything out if it until I had done the first three steps on a book didn't matter if it was the same book even 5-10 X day for at least 3-4 weeks. I used the Natural Brillance book and the PRWMS book they came with the course and they didn't seem too long. Good luck Fritz

Your post says nothing about what your purpose was, says nothing about mind probing, says nothing about writing down trigger words, says nothing about what questions you had for those trigger words and says nothing about searching for answers to questions for trigger words.Try it again with establishing your purpose writing down trigger words and questions you have for those trigger words superread and dip to find the answers to your questions. Try it that way and let us know what happens. photoread4me.

Adam16, photoread4me has some good points. You've also not stated how many activation passes you've performed. I would suggest reviewing the book. Hey, why not apply the system to the PR book. Each activation pass you could be looking for the information you need to better understand and use the system. You are perfection. Iam2

Hey Adam, It's been a while since you tried using the system, right? Persistence is important. Keep tackling those steps. I myself am cultivating the virtue of hard work. Try to do all the suggestions, but don't worry about accidently leaving any behind if you forget them. For activation, perhaps you did have hunches, but were consciously so dominant in the left brain that you might not have given them a chance. Just because you did not post everything you did in the system, I'm not going to assume you didn't use trigger words, purpose, etc...but they all do play a role in successful photoreading. So consider the suggestions given to you.

I've done all those things, except questions for the trigger words and mind mapping. I may just play with activation for awhile here. So what do you all think is the best thing to do. Keep working on it? Or move onto anthor chapter/book?

Keep activating until it has fully gelled for you. The biggest mistake beginners make when it comes to activation is to quit too soon. Expect to make more than one activation pass. Review after each pass whether your questions have been answered, new questions came up and if you still need or want to know more. Then decide if another activation pass is necessary. Reflect back to your purpose to check if more activation is necessary. Spend less time previewing. No longer than 8 minutes for a book... doesn't matter if it has more 300 pages or 1000 pages... limit yourself to 8 minutes. (Less than 300 consider shortening the preview time). Consider also shortening the preview to 2 minutes and do a postview of 10 to 15 minutes instead of 5 minutes. (Remember you're supposed to do a short postview to get your curiosity going and start creating those mind probing questions.) For each person the "sense" of familarity is differen. If you don't get a sense of familarity that's fine too. For some it just a case of I alrready know this stuff and it seems like you knew it before you photoread the book but often you didn't know it though now you have no way of proving it Akex

Thanks for your reply. Do you think if I spend TOO MUCH time previewing or postviewing, that I will have trouble with activation because it's already in my conscious mind? Last night I worked with a fiction book and it didn't have titles or subtitles so I basically read first sentences of a few paragraphs and basically read the whole book and knew what it was about by the time I was done. So do you think this would be a limit to activation? Also I thought about something this morning, do you think it would be at all beneficial to work with the dictionary? Like just work on PRing sections, and seeing if my intuition will guide me? I bet I would have more confidence in my intuition if so. Another thing I thought of, I'm actually pretty intuitive anyway, like if I'm daydreaming I usually get impressions of something I'm going to come across or someone's going to talk to me about in 5 minutes to an hour. But do you think it's a good idea to apply this to activation? Sort of get into a daydreaming state and allow the impression to arise?

In a word - Yes quote: Last night I worked with a fiction book and it didn't have titles or subtitles so I basically read first sentences of a few paragraphs and basically read the whole book and knew what it was about by the time I was done. So do you think this would be a limit to activation?
No that's not the limit to activation that the first pass you want more you activate more. It boils down to your purpose, what do you want from the book? quote: Also I thought about something this morning, do you think it would be at all beneficial to work with the dictionary? Apart from what would be your point in activating a dictionary that way? I must warn you the mind does not take lightly to playing games when it comes to intuition. Repeatedly 'testing' the intuition has a knack of shutting it down. Use your intuition to guide you to the necessary passages in a book that answer the relevant questions in relation to your purpose. Develop your intuition to practical ends and consider the rule the same as for photoreading... do not Practice the skill. Use the skill with a purpose whenever you can so that you develop it. When it comes to activation of books, Just do what is necessary to get the information you require consciously to satisfy your conscious comprehension. Some books it will tak longer others next to no time. You fully develop the skill by using it more. Alex

I see your reasoning here Alex. Because like if the brain thinks, 'you don't really care if you get impressions' then it will shut it down. Or if you're just doing it half heartly, it won't feel any need to give you any impressions. Thank you for bringing that to my attention.
