Arrange your computer so that you are seated in front of the monitor, but have a window behind you with lots of light coming through. Open up a big file on your computer that you want to photoread and get ready. Now, look at the reflection of the window in the monitor screen. You will find that you are instantly in photofocus when you look at the reflection of the window - your eyes diverge yet are as relaxed as they would be were you to look out of the window normally!

It helps if you can make the background of the document black and the text white, because it makes it easier to see the reflection. Also, a monitor with a reflecting screen helps.

That's an interesting idea. Once you've practiced PhotoFocus enough, you won't need it, though. It'll come as naturally as hard focusing :-)

You can also stick 2 dots about 1 inch apart at the top of your computer screen. Look at the dots when you get the third dot you have the coctail weenie effect.

Or failing a window have a lamp over the shoulder.

If you're reading something in Adobe Acrobat 6, just have it display two pages on the screen simultaneously just like how you'd view a book.

Isn't the font too small in that case, Fringe?

That will depend on your screen size and resolution. If you can make out the text then it'll most likely work for photoreading, however for activation you'll want a larger resolution. Try it and see is the best way to find out if it works for you.
