Don't agree with that.I mean, you have to click/scroll with using Word, in order get through it.
Another point, which coincidentally, is just what I've been doing, and that it sorting out where to put files.
Like Psydonym, I'm working with computers and also download a large amount of information, in the form of documents.I have to study many different topics, yet I had just been dwonloading the files to the same directory.
However, when I just came to find a document, it took me forever to find it, so I decided to create a logical structure.While doing this, I began to get a clearer picture of what documents I had, in what topics, how these documents related, so that I could build a parent directory and know where to best put the subdirectories.
This involved more than simply visualising, it required me to move objects on the screen, and to actually logically think about how to structure my files.
In the end I decided on suitable directories, and all was well.However, one last thing occured to me.I had nearly mastered certain documents, yet many I had not.I decided to change the icon on files that I had mastered, so the difference could be seen without having to actually open the document or changing the structure.
The young generation use computers more and more, therefore it becomes more normal to read from a computer, than from a book.I'm 23, so computers havent been commonplace in people's homes all my life.However, for younger kids, computers have always been there, therefore to them, I believe, it will end up being more normal to read from a screen, than to read from a book.
I like to sit down with a good old paper book, of course, that's up to the individual.But, the advantages of ebooks are trememndous for saving on paper, ink, space etc etc.The paperless world isn't here, oh no, far from it, but don't discount e-reading.
Go for it Psydonym.I'm stuck with my 17Inch viewable laptop screen, so if you can afford a 19" Plasma Display, and your comfortable with reading from a screen (let's face it, it's worth getting used to it) then do it.With the money you save on ink, you'll be able to afford it anyway.I might do the same myself.
