I've noticed that you recommend beginners to make 4-6 30 min passes. Why 30 mins? Can I go longer than 30 mins?
30 minutes is on the upper limit of how long your conscious mind can be at peak efficiency for comprehension and recall. If you take a break after 30 minutes (even a short - five to ten minute - break) and then move on to the next pass, your recall will be superior, and you will experience less of the conscious mind going for field trips while activating. For some people 30 minutes is too long, and it is not a bad idea to try out other, shorter, passes as well to discover where you are most comfortable.

Another thing I want to know is will I understand the book more if I photoread it a few times then do the activation?
I don't think it will have an immediate benefit on your comprehension of the book. Rather, it will help build the connection to your pre-conscious mind. I think that if you want to spend a bit more time on this step, spend all of it in the preparation, attaining a good level of relaxed awareness. This might be more immediately beneficial.

If I want to photoread again after the first photoreading session and 24 incubation, do I need another incubation period or I can just photoread and activate right afterwards.
You don't need another incubation period - just go right ahead and activate.
