Ehrm... A+ is fine if you are gonna do something with computer hardware...but MCP stands for Microsoft Certified Professional, and there are a lot more MCP titles where you don't need A+ at all. MCSE for instance. It helps to explain stuff to other ppl, but it won't help you certify. Why not? because computer hardware and operating system operation don't have much in common... exept that you might get an DMA conflict or something...which you can resolve by picking a free DMA... you don't realy need to know what it is on order to do that.
Once again: for any MCP title, get the transcendes somewhere (study buddy's or something...online sources I will not discuss here because of legal isues, etc) They prepare you with MS like questions in a MS like exam.

Just read you BLOG NOT5150 ... in that perpective it makes sence to get A+ first.
If you don't know anything about computers I agree it is a must have.
Still, I never had any use for it in my MCSE training, altho it got me into the rhytm of studying.
